Connect Analysis Module

Connect Analysis Module

The Analysis section in Connect is a report card of the total industry view for a specific country.

Data is currently available going back to Week 1 of 2023
The specific time frame of the search can be adjusted by clicking on the Time Frame option at the top of the screen

The Analysis section can be accessed by the main menu on the left hand side of the site.

The section is divided into three types of views:
  1. Trends
  2. Genres
  3. Markets
The first of the three sections is the Trends section. This will show activity for the time frame selected based on the Activity Type and Breakout Views selected.
For more information on the Activity Type and Breakout Views, click here.
For example, if you wanted to see a view of the total industry On-Demand Streams in the US over the last 12 weeks, you would select Streams as the Activity Type and Service Type for the Breakout View.

At the bottom of the screen, the Grid will provide a list of each week as well as all the metrics that are available in the Activity Type and Breakout View, giving you the option to choose which columns you want to see, with the option to Export the data.

The second section is the Genres section. This section shows the total industry view by Genre for the time frame selected based on the Activity View and Breakout Type selected.
The Total Activity will show the data in bar graph form based on what is selected in the Activity View and Breakout View,

while the bottom of the screen will show a Grid view with all the Breakout Views and Activity Types with the ability to choose selected columns and the ability to Export the view.

There is also an Option to view the genres that are Billboard genres, or to switch to Luminate genres, by clicking on the Billboard Genres tab in the top menu. An option screen will be available to shift between the two genre views and set up one as your default.

The third section is the Market section. This is only available in the United States and Canada location views.
Just like in the other sections, you will see a Total Activity view with a Graph and then below it, a Grid view.
The data will reflect what is selected in the Activity View and the Breakout Type.
The data is broken out by each of the Markets in the country.

To the right of the list of views is an option where you can select the Release Age for the data you would like to see.
When clicking on the Release Age, a selection comes on the screen where you can select Current, Catalog or Deep Catalog. You can also use the slider to choose a specific range of release age data outside of the definitions of Current (0-36 months), Catalog (36-72 months) and Deep Catalog (72 months and older).
