What is the difference between a Billboard genre and a Luminate genre?

In the Analysis section you have the ability to look at the performance of a genre on an industry wide level!

We have two genre groupings that you can select a genre from:
  1. Billboard genre
  2. Luminate genre
To learn more about the Analysis section, please click here

Click on Genre in the Analysis section, there will be a prompt called Luminate Genre(s): All.

Click "Luminate Genre(S): All".
A pop up section will appear split into two sections:
  1. Genre Database
  2.  Genre
There are two selections in the Genre Database:
  1. Billboard
  2. Luminate

Clicking either Genre Database option, Luminate or Billboard, will present you with genres for that genre database.
Some genres will have dropdown arrows where there are multiple sub-genres.

You can select one, or more, and click on Apply Changes.
The data reflected will show the Analysis for the genre/genres selected.

You can even select any specific sub-genre by de-selecting all genres, clicking the single sub-genre you want to see, and click Apply Changes

Between the two Genre Databases, you have the ability to drill down to more genres than ever before!

Using the Activity type dropdown, you can view the data based on:
  1. Album Equivalent
  2. Streams
  3. Song Sales
  4. Product Sales.

Choosing Streams or Product Sales, will allow you to select the Breakout View to show more specific data:
