There are a couple of different reasons why the data in an Artist Dashboard in Luminate Connect is different than in an Artist Dashboard in Music Connect.
The first example is if there are multiple artists with the same Artist name.
In Music Connect, unless a new Artist name has been created to differentiate that artist from a second artist, if multiple artists have the same Artist name, all the data for each artist is grouped in the same dashboard.
As an example, let's look at the artist Camille. When doing a search in Luminate Connect, we can see two different artists with that name.
If we do a similar search in Music Connect, there will be only one artist listing, and each artists' discography will appear in that dashboard, therefore inflating the artist data for that Artist name.
However, in Luminate Connect, each artist's discography, will only be linked to the specific artist. Therefore, the accurate data will appear in each artist's dashboard, with no change to an artist name needing to be made.
The second example on why the data may be different between the two sites is because collaborations between two or more artists are better represented in Luminate Connect.
Currently, in Music Connect, if there is a recording under multiple artist names such as a collaboration or a duo, etc, (where is no featured artist), that recording is only linked to the Artist Dashboard for that Artist collaboration name. For example, the song "Supernatural" is listed as by Ariana Grande, Troye Sivan. "Supernatural" will only be listed in the discography and dashboard for the artist name Ariana Grande, Troye Sivan, and won't appear in each artist's own discography and dashboard.
However, in Luminate Connect, the song "Supernatural" is included in each artist's discography in their artist dashboard, thereby making the artist's data more accurate.
