How does the search feature in Luminate Connect differ from Music Connect?

In the Next Gen Luminate Connect platform, we’ve updated the search feature to include an array of ways to find an Artist, Song, and Album compared to Legacy Music Connect.

ARTIST:

In Legacy Music Connect, you had two different ways to search for an artist:
  1. Name
  2. Artist ID.
(See Illustration below of Artist ID search for Gnarls Barkley)

In Next Gen Luminate Connect, there are several new ways to find an artist:
  1. By name
  2. Band name
  3. Alternate name(s)
  4. Luminate ID
  5. External IDs from data partners such as Gracenote, Apple, and Spotify
(See illustration below for External IDs and Alternate names for Drake)

Song:

In Legacy Music Connect, Songs were searched by:
  1. Title
  2. Song ID
  3. ISRC
Searching the ISRC lead to all versions of that “Song.
The Illustration below show’s searching by ISRC and how many versions of this title were available in Legacy Music Connect.

In Next Gen Luminate Connect, Songs can be searched by title:
  1. ISRC
  2. Luminate ID
  3. External IDs - which can include several from data partners.

See illustration below searching by External ID for Spotify.

Albums:

Luminate Connect differs from Music Connect in which you can now search albums by ICPN’s.
ICPNs are International Code Product Number - used by labels to identify a physical audio product.

Along with all the other search options below:
  1. Title
  2. UPC/EAN
  3. Luminate ID
  4. Gracenote ID
  5. Apple ID
(Illustration shown below: search by ICPN for Drake’s “Take Care” album)

When searching on these unique ID’s be sure to click the toggle for “ID Search”under the search bar.

SINGLES & EPs:

Last but not least, you can now search “Singles and EPs” within the new Luminate Connect platform,  whereas in Music Connect we didn’t capture “Singles” sales in any of the dashboards.  Luminate Connect allows you to search using many of the IDs mentioned above along with the title and ICPN.
