Data Sources: Provider availability grids

Data Sources: Provider availability grids

The Data Sources feature tracks daily data deliveries from the providers that report consumption to Luminate. It lists providers by activity type, location and the most recent date of reported data.

Open Data Sources from the sidebar menu.

Back to User Guide

View providers for each activity

Choose STREAMS, SONG SALES, PRODUCT SALES or AIRPLAY to see a provider grid for each activity in your location(s).

Scroll down to see all providers and countries.
STREAMS
SONG SALES
PRODUCT SALES
AIRPLAY
STREAMS

Streaming data deliveries are listed by provider, content type and location.

SONG SALES

Song sale data deliveries are listed by provider and location (including worldwide), with no additional breakouts.

PRODUCT SALES

Product sales data deliveries are listed by provider, store strata, purchase method and distribution channel. We track product sales in the U.S. and Canada only.

AIRPLAY
The AIRPLAY tab lists all currently-reporting stations and formats for the U.S. and Canada. Use the search bar to filter by station description, country or format.

Many stations are included in more than one format panel. Hover over the Airplay Format column to see all listed formats.

Stations without formats are tracked in CONNECT as part of overall Airplay totals, but not included in Airplay charts.

First and Last Report Date
First Report Date is the earliest date for which we received data from a provider for the listed activity and location. (For historical data or weekly providers, that date may indicates the start of a week for which we received weekly data).

Last Report Date indicates the latest data delivery as of the most recent date for which CONNECT has released complete data., usually -2 days from today's date.
.
Check data availability by Last Report Date
Usually, the most recent date of available CONNECT data is 2-3 days before today's date. To confirm, go to any Dashboard, then open the Time Frame menu.

The current week is highlighted; within it, all dates with published data are bold, with subsequent (future) dates grayed out.

If the last bold date on the calendar aligns with Last Report Date in the Data Sources grid, that provider is up to date.
.

Filter and sort provider data

Start typing in the search bar at top left to filter data deliveries by provider, breakout or location.

The grid will update automatically with results.

See countries by provider
Start typing a provider name to see all countries for which that provider reports data.

Remember, all country-level data is included in our Worldwide aggregate. If a provider appears for the United States and Worldwide only, that provider can still be a U.S-only provider. We just add their U.S. reporting to the Worldwide total.

This goes for all other countries, too. If a provider only appears in one country + Worldwide, it can mean that we only have country-level provider data for that location.*

*This doesn't necessarily mean that a provider only reports for one country.
We may have provider data for additional countries that aren't shown separately in CONNECT or aren't viewable by your account.
Even if that's the case, we still add all reported data to the Worldwide total, which is always visible to all users.
.

See providers by country
Start typing a country name to see all providers that report country-level data for that location.

.

Sort by any column
Click any column header to sort the grid by that column. Click it again to toggle from descending order↓ to ascending order ↑.

Click it a third time to go back to the default sort order.
.
Filter + sort to isolate provider data quickly
Enter terms separated by spaces to filter the grid by multiple values at once.

To see which providers reported sales of physical products at brick-and-mortar locations in Canada, go to the PRODUCT SALES tab, then type "canada physical storefront" to filter by Location, Distribution Channel and Purchase Method.

You can enter filters in any order, but search terms must match available fields exactly. Even small typos like "stroefront" or "canoda" won't work.

Click the Provider or Store Strata column headers to group your results by retailer and store type.
.

Export provider grids

Open the dropdown (kebab menu) at top right to export a Data Sources grid in Excel format.

You'll see a blue banner that reads "Please wait while we generate your export." Exports will download automatically.

Note that filters won't be applied in an export. Exported Data Sources grids contain all countries, providers and content types for the current week.

Data Sources FAQs

Why are some providers listed twice for the same location?

We list providers separately for each reported activity type/breakout. A provider might be repeated to indicate that the same provider sent both Audio and Video streams, Digital and Physical sales, etc.

Why is a U.S-only provider also listed as a Worldwide reporter?

All U.S. data is included in our Worldwide aggregate. If a reporter appears in the Data Sources grid once for the United States and once for Worldwide, it simply means that the U.S. data is getting tracked as part of the Worldwide total, not that the DSP reported additional data outside the United States.

Why can’t I see the latest report date (i.e. today/yesterday)?

The Data Sources grid indicates the latest data delivery included in the last complete CONNECT data release. (See "First and Last Report Date" in the article above).

Can I see the actual reported figures by provider?

No. Some provider-level activity is available to rights holders on Dashboards. Otherwise, we do not break out data by provider.
