Sales data providers: List of U.S. and Canada active retailers
Go to Data Sources to see provider data availability directly in-app.
CONNECT receives direct product sales data from thousands of retailers in the U.S. and Canada every day. We track physical and digital music sales across the retail spectrum, from indie record stores and concert merch tables to big-box chains and e-commerce giants.
We add retail providers that register with us and meet our criteria for reporting product sales data. After approval and onboarding, retail providers send us daily or weekly data transfers from a point of sale system. Inactive (non-reporting) retailers may be asked to reapply and repeat the onboarding process.
For questions about our sales data partnerships and validation procedures, refer to Methodology FAQs.

Activity reported by retailers
Retailers report sales at the Product (ICPN/barcode) level. In addition to the number of units sold, we collect data on how people buy music: store type, purchase method, product type, etc.
We track Product Sales by:
Distribution Channel
Digital or Physical
Purchase Method
Online or Storefront
Store Strata
Retailer category (Mass Market, E-Commerce, D2C, etc.)
Release Type and Product Format
Configuration (album, EP, single) and format of the item (vinyl, cassette, CD)
Some activity details are visible in CONNECT as Breakout Views; others are optional filters. Refer to Activity Types for more information.
Reporting retailers
We receive direct sales data from all major music retailers. See below for samples of active reporters in the U.S. and Canada. Full provider lists are subject to change based on reporting requirements and frequency.
For digital-only providers (Streams and Song Sales), refer to our list of DSPs.

Providers listed alphabetically
The above lists are representative, not exhaustive. Some stores report only a few sales or don’t report consistently. If you have questions about a retailer not listed, check providers in CONNECT (see below/Data Sources) or contact us.
Most reporting retailers send data directly to Luminate via secure file transfer. However, we receive some sales information from other kinds of data partners. We get venue sales data from atVenu and aggregated independent retail data from StreetPulse.
We also use modeling to fill in a remainder of indie sales data from non-reporting stores. Read more in our FAQs.
View retail providers in CONNECT
The Data Sources feature lists all providers for each country and activity type. From the sidebar menu, open Data Sources and choose PRODUCT SALES to see which providers have reported sales data as of the most recent site release (a.k.a. the last date with complete published data in the current week).
Access to more granular retailer data depends on subscription type and account permissions. Not all accounts can view full provider breakouts. Some provider-level detail may be limited to claimed musical assets.
Provider-level sales data can be viewed by rights holders for their claimed assets on Dashboards. Some account types may also have access to retailer-level data within Industry Analysis.
