Start with Search: Find artists, albums and songs

Open the sidebar menu and click  Search to search the entire CONNECT database.

There are two ways to search: by keyword (default option) or by ID.

Keyword search is enabled by default. Start typing keywords in the search bar and suggested results will appear based on popularity, relevance and your selected location.

Search results are grouped by category. Top Results collects the best and most popular matches for your keyword(s). Scroll down to see Artist, Song, and Release Group matches.

Click See All > to view more results for each category. You’ll get a table view with a scrollable list of keyword matches.

Narrow it down: use multiple keywords

Even with an exact title match, your desired result might not appear on the first page. If you want to find Amy Winehouse’s debut album and search for “Frank,” that album won’t populate under Top Results or Release Groups—after all, there are a lot of Franks in the recording industry.

Try a combination of keywords to refine your search, such as “Frank Amy Winehouse.” Or use ID Search for an exact match.

Toggle the ID Search tab under the search bar to search by Luminate ID, ISRC or any other ID type in our database.

What IDs can I search?

CONNECT matches multiple IDs and product codes to each artist, song or release group. These include Luminate IDs, legacy Music Connect IDs, and industry standard codes like ISRC (recording) and ICPN (product).

Go to: ISRC, ICPN, ISNI: External IDs and product codes

If you know the ICPN, ISRC or other ID attached to your search query, paste that code into the search bar to get a quicker result. For instance, if you have the ICPN for the 2024 vinyl reissue of “Frank,” an ID Search brings up that Album (Release Group) Dashboard.

Song or Recording? Release or Product?

If you search for a recording by ISRC, your search will only bring up the higher-level Song Dashboard, not the specific Recording Dashboard. The same goes for individual Releases and Products within an album Release Group. Clicking an ICPN will take you to the full Release Group Dashboard

Go to the Song Dashboard or Release Group Dashboard, then scroll to the bottom to find your recording or release by ID.
