The Analysis feature aggregates streaming consumption data at the industry level for a broader view of film and TV streaming.
Open Analysis from the sidebar menu.
The top of the Analysis page displays combined totals and viewership share for the top streaming platforms in the selected time frame.
The top left pane aggregates total time watched across the top ten streamers. Below the combined viewership total, you’ll see a % change and [up icon] increase or [down icon] decrease compared to the previous period.
The previous period is always the chart week immediately preceding the selected one. The percentage change can reflect the current week compared to last week, last week vs. two weeks ago, Week 28 vs. Week 27, etc.
Previous period comparisons are only available for single-week time frames. Selecting a multi-week range will remove this figure.
The top right pane displays provider share for the top ten streamers as a pie chart. Mouse over a chart area to see the total number of minutes or hours watched for each provider.
The Trends pane aggregates weekly TV and movie viewership for the selected time period and compares per-week totals against the same period last year.
Trends displays weekly totals only, with no daily time view available. Set a multi-week Time Frame to see more weeks of data compared to the same weeks last year. Each week appears as a stacked bar that combines TV Shows and Movies. Mouse over a bar chart area to see totals for each category.
The grid at the bottom of the Analysis page lists total time watched for TV Shows, Movies and both combined. Each row lists the Selected Period Total, Previous Period Total and Total Change between the two.
Analysis defaults to the current chart week’s streaming market data. Choose a different week or range of weeks from the Time Frame menu.
Date ranges can be customized to the week, but not the day. Chart weeks run from Friday to Thursday; you can select a range of Weeks 1-36 for the current year, but not a range that starts on a Wednesday and ends on a Monday.
All SV(M) dates begin at 12:00 a.m. UTC. Daily streaming viewership is counted from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. UTC on a given date irrespective of the viewer’s time zone or the title’s release location.
