Use Comparison to analyze a normalized multi-week window of viewing data for up to 12 titles at a time.
Open Comparison from the SV(M) sidebar menu.
When you open Comparison, a selection overlay appears with pre-populated suggestions. Jump right in by adding titles from the list or start typing in the search bar to filter titles by keyword.
Comparison supports movies and TV seasons. Make selections from the suggested list of popular titles or search for specific titles using the top search bar. Matching results will appear below as you type.
Check the boxes at left to add items. Select at least 2 titles to proceed (up to 12 total).
Use the filters in the left column to find titles that match your parameters and/or narrow your search results. Click ↑ or ↓ to expand and collapse filter menus.
Click Apply Filters to refresh results.
The Selected tab at top left displays a running count of titles you've added so far. Open it to view or edit your selections so far.
Hover over a row to delete it using the trash can icon at right.
Once you’re satisfied with the list, click Compare Selected at bottom right. (You can add more items afterward).
The Comparison line graph plots viewership for each title in its initial release period, measured in weeks since release. Week 1 is always the chart week in which SV(M) first measured activity for the title (usually release week).
Comparison defaults to Weeks 1-12. Select one of the other presets from the Time Frame menu (top right menu bar) or set a custom week range.
Time Frame selectionComparison defaults to showing the first 12 weeks of release data for all titles. Open the dropdown in the top menu bar to set a different date range. All titles are normalized to the same window relative to their respective release dates.Comparison doesn't support calendar date selection at this time. Use Dashboards or build a Ranking Report to compare title performance for specific date ranges..Why is release week data for a title not what I expect?SV(M) began tracking streaming original viewership in Week 1 of 2022; we have no earlier data. For titles released before 2022, date ranges begin with the date added to the platform, which may be after 2022 W1..
Open the ... menu at the top right of the Trends pane to export your comparison as a CSV or Excel table. Choose Export Episode Trends to see episode-level data for TV seasons.
SV(M) only tracks viewership from 2022 at the earliest. If you add a pre-2022 title to your Comparison, you’ll see viewership for the first few weeks of 2022 instead of the first few weeks of release.
For example, selecting weeks 1-26 for a 2019 TV season won’t display viewership from 2019. Instead, you’ll see how many people happened to watch that season in weeks 1-26 of 2022.
We do not track historical modeled viewership before 2022.
“No data available” means that SV(M) can’t display viewership data for that title during the date range selected. This could be for a few reasons:
The title does not have viewership data attached (applies to some library titles).
The title has not been released or made available on streaming yet (i.e. an upcoming TV season).
