Data corrections: Report metadata errors
Notice something wrong on a Dashboard? Report inaccuracies and request revisions by submitting a data correction.
First, document and double-check Luminate IDs, external IDs, iimages, URLs and names/titles for accuracy. Copy and paste IDs and Dashboard URLs somewhere handy. The more information we have, the easier it is to help.
Once you’ve gathered the above, you can send a data correction ticket directly from the CONNECT platform.

Submit a data correction ticket
On any CONNECT page, click ? icon near the bottom of the left sidebar menu to open the Help menu. (In smaller screen resolutions, a ? button will “float” over the page at bottom left).
Choose “Submit Ticket” from the top right dropdown or scroll to the Submit a ticket button to view the Ticket Information form.
Under Request Type, select Data Correction. Then use the Description field to describe the issue and enter corrected metadata. Fill out all other required fields and hit Submit. We’ll be in touch with confirmation or follow-up questions within 3 business days.
What to include
Luminate ID and/or Dashboard URL
ISRC or ICPN/UPC
Artist name
Label name
Exact titles for songs and products (check spelling, punctuation and capitalization)
Track listings if applicable
Image attachments if applicable
Depending on the request, you might also want to include screenshots, Luminate IDs/Dashboard URLs for duplicate listings, other external IDs for the entity or links to outside reference pages.
Image specifications
If your data correction includes an image update, you can attach a new image (plus links or other documentation to help verify its accuracy).
Potential data corrections
Most data correction requests fall under the following categories:
Incorrect or incomplete metadata
Duplicate Products or Releases that should be merged
Misspellings, truncated titles and other copy errors
Wrong or missing imagery
Luminate receives music metadata and consumption metrics directly from thousands of sources. Our reporting partners send us trillions of annual data points: streaming metrics, daily sales figures, artist metadata, new releases to add to our database and revisions to existing data.
Go to: Methodology 101: How Luminate collects, models and measures music data
CONNECT automatically compiles most data and reconciles minor discrepancies. But some errors (misspellings, mistyped numbers, transposed fields, incorrectly formatted entries, etc.) require manual correction.
Follow our title guidelines when submitting song and album data to avoid orphans, duplicates and other Dashboard errors.
