Migrating from Music Connect: Overview for legacy users

Migrating from Music Connect: Overview for legacy users

CONNECT is a significant—and essential—evolution of the Music Connect platform.

Built for purpose

Rather than update an existing product, we designed CONNECT from scratch. The reimagined UI combined with the speed and flexibility of the cloud-based architecture makes more types of data more accessible, visible and useful.

Ready for the future of music

CONNECT gives us the freedom to build new features, integrate with new partners and track more kinds of data based on our users’ evolving needs and priorities.

If you’re a past or current Music Connect subscriber, read on for an overview of new CONNECT features and how to prepare for migration.

Why CONNECT?

CONNECT offers the same essential music consumption data from Luminate and our data partners. But it offers several benefits over Music Connect.

Different look, even more data

The CONNECT interface has been redesigned and simplified. The new interface is more visual, with charts, tables and KPI displays that refresh based on your chosen view options and filters.

CONNECT Dashboards have been overhauled to combine detailed metadata about artists, albums and releases with dynamic visuals that highlight key performance metrics. Advanced, multi-factor data controls help you surface the most important information and uncover new layers of insight—all without running an offline report.

New and enhanced features

CONNECT presents more views of more data than previous Luminate tools, some of it brand-new and unavailable anywhere else.

  • Detailed artist metadata viewable on Dashboards

  • Country-level analysis in 60+ countries

  • Domestic market-level data in the U.S. and Canada

  • Global charts for 30+ countries

  • Dynamic data visualizations that change based on activity type

  • Custom date ranges and time frame comparisons

  • More breakouts, filters and genre selection options

Fewer acronyms

LW, TW, TEA, SES and a few others have been retired. We reduced Music Connect’s alphabet soup and replaced acronyms with straightforward terminology.

Start using CONNECT now

Music Connect is still available for existing subscribers. Eventually, however, we will sunset the legacy platform. After migration, Music Connect will no longer be available for any users. To make the switch easier, we encourage you to start exploring CONNECT as soon as you receive access.

If your account has access to CONNECT already, visit app.luminatedata.com or click the new CONNECT tile in your Luminate user portal. Log in with the same credentials you’ve been using for Music Connect. For login help, check our login troubleshooting guide
