Data Explorer is your self-serve portal to a universe of music metadata. Search by artist name or asset ID to view the unique identifiers associated with artists, recordings and compositions—plus the links between them—as interactive database entries.
Access a best-in-class dataset
Luminate Music Data Enrichment (formerly Quansic) leverages a massive database of musical identifiers to map music data for our industry clients. Data Explorer makes our database available in a searchable, visual format.
Search by ISNI, ISRC, ISWC and more
We track more than 28 million artist IDs, including ISNI, along with over 60 million ISRCs and 22 million ISWCs. Our comprehensive cataloguing of industry-standard codes for artists, recordings and works is second to none.
Find artists, works and metadata
Unique musical IDs in our dataset are interlinked with graph mapping technology that makes it possible to identify, disambiguate and group musical assets with 100% accuracy. Data Explorer connects artists to all known releases, recordings and musical works (compositions) credited to their names.
Visit explorer.quansic.com and log in with your credentials. You’ll land on the Data Explorer search page.
Searching by artist name usually returns multiple matches, with the best/most popular match at the top. Alternate matches are listed below, under Other Results:
Search query: "Willie Nelson"
Note how difficult it can be to disambiguate artists on the basis of name alone—which is why we only use ID matching to verify artist identities. Metadata like date of birth and country of origin can help, but they don’t always tell the full story (see the Comments column).
Data Explorer combines artist metadata with all known associated IDs and other information.
Click the linked IDs to go to the relevant database or identifier website. Click the icon to the right of the ID code to copy it to your clipboard.

Our identifier database is free and open to the public—but whether you’re a Luminate Data client or not, you’ll need to sign up via Quansic. We’ll confirm your subscription and activate your Data Explorer account.
